It’s been 6 months since my last post – I most sincerely apologise. I can only attribute it to two reasons: (1) I’ve been very busy; and (2) I couldn’t be bothered! I’ll try and do better next time I promise!

Jeez, where do I start? So much has happened in the past 6 months. I’m now working full time for RAD as an Advice Worker, and really enjoying it. Although it is tough work and long hours, it’s been a tremendous challenge and put me in contact with a lot of legal people.

On 5 September 2003, I proposed to Rachel with a ?10 ring from Argos and she accepted!! Of course I got her a proper diamond ring, it was being made when I proposed, as we went to Venice for the weekend and I didn’t want to miss the perfect chance. We had an engagement party on 23 October which was great fun and thanks to everyone who were very generous with their gifts. We really appreciated it. We’re hoping to get married on 5 August 2006 in St Paul’s Church, Newbridge.

Chairmanship of the GSD is proving to be a lot of work, but I am enjoying it and am steering the Group at the moment through some massive constitutional changes. Hopefully the Group will become a force to be reckoned with once again.

My beloved nan passed away on 14 November 2003 from a heart attack. It was completely unexpected and we all miss her dreadfully. Nan and I were very close throughout my childhood and although in recent years we didn’t always see eye to eye, that bond has always been there. Kirsty and I now have no grandparents, but I guess that’s just the way life goes.

I’ve now moved to my own flat in Muswell Hill, North London, and really enjoy the peace and quiet and freedom to do anything I want. My life is so fast-paced these days that I don’t feel lonely in the flat (I live alone), and even if it wasn’t, I’d still love it as much. It’s especially nice when Rachel comes for the weekend, just the two of us.
