Now that the completion date for our new house has been set and things are firmly in motion, I feel that I can now exclusively reveal just where our new property is (as per my post on 2 April 2005) and some of the details that I’m sure you’re all just dying to know about.

First of all, here is a picture of our new house! 24 Llywnon Road, Oakdale, Blackwood. And here are some interesting facts:

1. “Llwynon” is Welsh for “Ash Grove” and is pronounced “clu-in-on”.
2. We are buying it for £96,000, and putting down a 10% deposit.
3. It is a 3-bedroom house built in 1981.
4. Completion will take place on 30 June 2005, on which date we will have the keys to the property.
5. The house is in bloody good nick – it has PVC windows, central heating etc., and does not require any renovation, just redecoration to our taste.
6. At present, we plan to redecorate the living room and the 3 bedrooms.
7. Plans are afoot to have a new bathroom as soon as we have the keys.
8. We will have laminated flooring in the 3 bedrooms and a new carpet in the living room. All other flooring will do for now (apart from new flooring in the bathroom, probably tiles).
9. Rachel and I are very excited about our new home!

We will of course keep you updated on how the house shapes up once we’ve got the keys. I’ll also take pictures of the inside of the house. Hey! My dream of owning my own home has become a reality, so I’ll bloody show it off if I want to! If you find it boring, go look at some other blogs! P
