The missus and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary today – yes, already! I look on the past year, and marvel at just how quickly it has whizzed past.
Memories
Today is an opportunity to reflect on what a truly a magical day for both of us and our families. We got married at St Paul’s Church, Newbridge, followed by a wedding reception and evening reception at the Maes Manor Hotel in Blackwood. You can see the post I made just after the wedding here.

A year gone by
Since getting hitched, we have been busy bees. After jetting off to Kenya on honeymoon, we returned to the UK and I resumed my training contract at RAD / South West London Law Centres while Rachel started her MSc in Deaf Studies at Bristol University. In January, I began a secondment at Hugh James Solicitors for five months.
In May, I qualified as a solicitor and was admitted to the roll on 1 June. The missus and I attended, together with my mum, an Admissions Ceremony on 23 July. I continue to work at RAD as a Solicitor and Legal Services Supervisor.
Rachel has more or less finished her assignments for her MSc, and now has to do her dissertation. Speaking of which, I have to do my dissertation for my LLM Law of Employment Relations by December.
We jetted off to Gran Canaria for a week in March, and we are very much looking forward to Christmas this year in Tenerife, with the in-laws.
Wonder what the next year will bring!
Did you get lots of paper?
We had 13 cards, as well as the two cards we gave each other!
Cards don’t count! What about paper gifts?
First year anniversary = paper.
