Decline in Employment Tribunal claims continues

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) published statistics on Employment Tribunal (ET) claims for the period October-December 2014 on 12 March 2015. They show that the number of claims received by the ET in that quarter was down 12% on the same period the previous year.

The report also includes figures on fee remission, which show that over a third of applications for remission were successful.

The statistics on fee remission cover the 12 months ending 30 September 2014. In this period, 11,338 remission applications were submitted for the issue fee and 2,494 for the hearing fee. Around a third of issue fee remission applications were either fully or partially successful, compared with almost two thirds of hearing fee remission applications.
