Chrimbo is over (for another year)

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

Hey there.  Merry Chrimbo to all of you; hope you had a good ‘un.

As usual, family were more than generous to me and the missus this year – we had six sacks’ worth of presents between us!  Crikey. The best things I had were a remote-control Audi TT (I’m hoping to buy a real one in 2007 when I qualify) and this jacket.  We also had shitloads of chocolate – enough to last until Easter, I’m sure!

Now that Chrimbo is over, all I’m seeing on the TV is “SALE! SALE! SALE!”.  Doesn’t it annoy you?  We spend all that money at Christmas, and then the next day, the sales start, and all the things you bought for presents is now cheaper.  Also, if I see one more bloody sofa on TV …

Sorry … got distracted by the Sale on the Burton website.  Tsk.

IKEA

Thursday, August 18th, 2005

I really enjoyed our visit to IKEA today, simply because it’s the first time I’ve ever had the full IKEA experience. What do I mean by that? Well, all my previous visits to IKEA have been tag-alongs with other people who have been going through the “full IKEA experience”. This time, however, as I was going in with a generous budget, a house to put things in, and my fiancée in tow, I was able to enjoy myself and buy what ever took my fancy. We ended up spending almost £150, but have sorted out two rooms in the process!

Definition

Full IKEA experience: a person enters IKEA with a sizeable budget and an open canvas, and leaves the store with little or no room left in his car on account of all the goods he has purchased.

I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
